Jim Palmer is a former MLB starting pitcher who played his entire 19 season career for the Baltimore Orioles. JIm won a Baltimore record of 268 wins over his career. A right-handed pitcher, Jim was the most successful pitcher in MLB during the 1970's, winning 186 games over that period. Jim won at least 20 games in 8 seasons, while winning 3 Cy Youngs and 4 Golden Glove Awards. He was an important member of 3 World Series winners and his Orioles team won six A.L. pennants and 7 Eastern Division titles. In 1971, Jim was a member of the Oriole pitching staff that was the last team to host four 20 game winners in the same year. He is also the only pitcher in MLB history to have won a World Series Game in three different decades. Interestingly, in his 19 seasons, Jim never yielded a grand slam home run. After Jim retired in 1984, he continued as color analyst on baseball broadcasts and he continued to be commercial spokesperson, including Jockey underwear. Today, Jim is 75 years old. He was one of the great pitchers in the history of MLB and his helmet would be a special gift for any Orioles fan or any fan of baseball history. Get this while you can.
