WE ARE DELIGHTED TO OFFER HERE ONE OF THE RAREST AND MOST IMPRESSIVE MOVIE POSTERS THAT WE HAVE EVER SEEN! This is a full color one sheet, measuring about 27" x 41". Several pictures of The Brown Bomber are featured, along with great text blurbs which add tremendously to impact of this spectacular poster. Joe Louis was not only one of the most beloved boxers of all time, he was also one of the most important Black Americans of the 20th century. CONDITION: is extremely attractive. If framed properly, this rare poster would display beautifully. The image area is still bright. There are a few small border and seam tears, and we noticed a tiny discoloration on one blank border corner. Also, the poster is a little wavy. It has never been mounted or backed, and we can see no evidence of any type of restoration. We feels it displays as a gorgeous VERY FINE. Our scans are somewhat dark but the actual poster still has bright rich colors. A NOTE FOR HISTORIANS: Joe Louis reportedly still holds the record for longest-reigning Heavyweight Champ, of eleven years, eight months. This poster is so rare and important that the foremost history of Black movies that we know, A Separate Cinema , shows on page 61 only a foreign-release, Spanish language, example of the poster. Presumably with all of the author's extremely impressive resources, they could not locate an English language version of this poster. It is truly rare, and a genuine tangible article of American history.
