US Vietnam Issue Bayonet/Fighting Knife & Scabbard
US Vietnam Issue MI Carbine Bayonet/Fighting Knife & Scabbard. 'TMN' marked under guard. TMN is for turner manufacturing company which started producing these on contract in 1954. A lot of these made it to Vietnam conflict and were issued to ARVN troops for their rifles. Check G.Cunningham book 'American Military Bayonets of the 20th Century' pg 74. Blade has heavy sharpening along edge, retains about 75% finish. There is metal scuffing about 1" on point both sides. Plastic grips, levers, all fine. Scabbard is USM8A1 'PWH' with no cracks. Has a large '85' painted in white on front side. Snap and keeper strap all work fine. Rare Vietnam era Manufacture. This was an issued & used bayonet.
