    Description

This vintage (possibly even antique) M. Greenberg fire hydrant has been retired for some time and needs a new home.  It is solid brass with a short 5.75 inch long 4 inch diameter iron pipe, 4.5 inches outside diameter.  The all brass hydrant is 14.5" from the bottom of the 6" hexagon threaded base to the top of the 5/8" hex nut for a total of 20.5" including the iron pipe. From the front of the screw on cap to the rear of the hydrant measures 8.5".
The 4 X 2 1/2 stands for the 4" pipe and the 2 1/2" firehose threaded connection.  The No. 123 is the model number and the 300 is the working pressure rating.  Check the photos for the overall condition as well as the worn paint and rusty pipe, also use the magnifying tool to enlarge and see better detail.
This hydrant has not been tested and more than likely needs a rubber seal on the shut off if wanting to restore it.  There are no warranties stated or implied and it is sold "as is."  Having said that, I believe it would make a great conversation piece in the garden, man cave or where ever there might be room for it.
