    ⅛ Ryo - Ninko
    (1817-1846)
    新南鐐二朱銀
    Silver (.989)
1 Shu 1⁄16 Ryō Bunsei Nanryō Isshugin(古南鐐二朱銀) first appeared in the late 18th century as a silver coin with the same value as "gold coins".
After that, the minting of this coin was suspended, but in 1824, a new type of “Ryo” was issued, which was almost identical to the old type of “1⁄16 Ryo”.
This new type of“Ryo” is “⅛ Ryo - Ninko
    (新南鐐二朱銀)

    “Nanryō(
    南鐐
    )” means “Pure Silver” (98%).
